You’re not hungry when you’re full.

A picky eater simply isn't hungry enough; personally, I can recall countless times when I was driving down the highway, extremely selective in regards to where I planned on stopping to eat.  This was because my belly was reasonably full, even Chick-Fil-A was not alluring enough to cause me to pull over.  However, as the hours wore on and the hunger began to grow, I finally came to the place where “the next fast food joint was fine with me.”
“The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.” –Proverbs 27:7
It is vital that our spiritual man remains well feed.  I am firmly convinced that many, many people today begin well with God.  They find a powerful witness that testifies to the fact that he has surly worked a mighty work in their lives.  However, by and by we as people become “carful and cumbered about many things.” (Luke 10:41)  The devil has a way of making the most meaningless things seem of the UTMOST importance.  “You must deal with this NOW.”  He tells us.  “You are missing out on all the fun!”  He often proclaims.  When in reality, the laundry can wait.  You don’t HAVE to watch the game.  The fast-pace, instant, “streaming”, live, now, now, now, world that we live in today may have its perks when it comes to standard of living; but how much does it do for our Spiritual lives?  Let’s face it; Google is not going to tell you how to defeat the devil.  We see the masses filling their lives with the manna of the world and wonder why their soul hungers.  We say to ourselves: “I can’t believe he would do that.”  “I can’t believe they would leave their: church, wife/husband, kids; just up and walk away from God after all these years.”  Well, no wonder, to the “hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.”  Would you agree?
The gospel still stands the same.  The Bible does not need me to prop it up, but that does not mean I don’t need to get behind it.  The same God that made us will keep us, if we keep him first.  However, the Word says that we must be diligent about it. (2 Peter 1)  We must keep our Spirit well feed, with that which sustains; reading your Bible, praying, church going, testifying, obeying, abstaining, reading your Bible, reading your Bible, and reading some more.   God help us to spend less time feeding on that which does not fill, and more time consuming that which will sustain, because you’re not hungry when you’re full.
“4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” – John 15:4
