“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but
understanding what the will of the Lord is.” – Ephesians 5:17
It is one thing to intentionally avoid the will of God in our
life, and another thing entirely to be ignorant of it; and therefore not
perform the will of God in our life.
Certainly, the best and most perfect life a man or women can live on
this earth is one that is lived in the very center of the will of God. However, with Satan tempting, the world
testing, and the natural calling; it can be certain that sometimes the will of
God is not evident or even understood in our lives. It is unwise to move outside of the will of
God and wise to walk in it. So, we must understand
what the will of the Lord is; and do it.
The scriptures tell us that this
is the will of God, even your sanctification. It is no marvel that the Bible is so direct,
so pointed, and so clear when it comes to this notion of: what is the will of
God concerning mankind? He wants us,
each one, to be sanctified and made holy in this life. Yes, in this present world. He created us in perfect fellowship with him,
and we fell from that fellowship when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. This separation continued until Christ came
and became the perfect instrument to offer redemption back to mankind. He paid the price so that we could be
sanctified, as he was sanctified. So
that we could be one with God, as Jesus was one with God. The fellowship can be restored through the
indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This is
the will of God concerning your life; and no wonder, because how can we ever
expect to know and do the will of God when we have awful carnality within? How can understand the things of the Spirit when
we have the natural man alive and well on the inside? We must first crucify the carnal man, and be
raised up a spiritual man; then and only then, can we have access and hope to
walk in the light of God’s will for us individually. This is why the Bible is so clear, the will
of God in our life is our sanctification.
This sanctification is a growth process.
Not that you grow into sanctification, but rather that you grow in
sanctification. Like a new born baby,
once you are sanctified you are born again and you need to grow. The Holy Spirit within gives you a firm
connection to God above, and you can have communication with the Father; he can
and will teach you all things. You
learn and grow in this new found grace which God has given. This amazing grace. The grace that covers the wrongs you
willfully commit is not a saving grace, though it is grace. The grace that brings you out of a life of
sin and keeps you, nurtures you, raises you up in righteousness. That is a saving grace, an amazing
grace. This is the grace that we are brought
into when sanctified and the grace we grow in while experiencing the fellowship
of being sanctified to God while here on earth.
The will of God is sanctification to his creation, both for us
to become sanctified, and remain sanctified.
Every sanctified person must learn each day, more and more about Jesus
and about God’s will in our life. As we
learn, we do, and as we do, we grow. In
so doing, we continue to remain sanctified to God, understanding of His will,
and doing it. The life is in the
experience and the experience is the life; as a seed sown in the earth has all
of the characteristics to bear fruit acceptable to the husbandman. So the Spirit sown in our hearts has all the inherent
properties to produce a sanctified life and keep us knowing and doing the will
of God. Our only objective is to tend to
it; in reading, in praying, in waiting, in doing and walking in all the light
that God’s gives to us. The will of the
Lord is sanctification and sanctification is the will of the Lord.
