Guest Week- Prisoner of Jesus Christ

Ephesians 4: 1-3
1: “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2: With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3: Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

This weeks edition was written by Matt Collins:

In today’s society, a prison or the thought of being a prisoner is not something we strive for.  Being imprisoned means having your freedoms stripped away from you and your life minimized to strict guidelines and duties. In secular terms, a prisoner is confined, limited, and deprived of freedom against their will. In the Bible Apostle Paul proclaims to the people at Ephesus that he is prisoner of the Lord and to walk worth of the vocation from which he is called. Apostle Paul speaks to them as a spiritual imprisonment to the Lord. Though far from being stripped of his freedom, Paul completely surrenders to the Lord and focuses strictly on the Lord’s direction. He being a prisoner of the Lord he has completely sold out to Christ, which is necessary to obtain full salvation.

Like Apostle Paul, when we get sanctified we become prisoners to Jesus Christ and servants to righteousness. He equips us with His spirit, if we yield to His direction for our lives. Only when we willingly yield our lives to the Lord, then we are no longer slaves to Satan, and can gain all the Lord has to offer. I ask you this week, are you a prisoner to Jesus Christ? Have you made a full consecration to Him? Have you died to self and does His spirit rein in your life? I pray if that is not the case you make a consecration to do so, and if you have then continue on the fighting line.

Love and Prayers,

Matt Collins
